A large Black Country
manufacturing town, traditionally the centre of the lock
making industry and specialising also in leather work
and saddlery. Birthplace of General Booth and museum
dedicated to Jerome K. Jerome, who was also a native.
Close to the town centre there is a long established and
fine leather museum and central museum and art gallery
has work by Epstein, Rembrandt and Constable. Arboretum.
Queen Mary's Schools date from 1554.
